is rock climbing confusing?
are all the ropes, knots, etc. hard to learn when learning to rock climb? it seems like it might be confusing, but is it easy to learn once you get going?
It is not confusting at all. I learned a lot of knots when I first started, but you really only use a few (Figure 8, Water Knot, Double Fisherman) and these ones are really easy.
If you want to learn about gear and setting anchors, get the book “How to Rock Climb” by John Long. This will tell you about each piece of equipment and how to use it along with some basic rock climbing technique.
Once you do it for a while, it will be second nature.
